Infographic: A Brief History of Stephen Hawking

The infographic narrates the life of Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest theoretical physicists of the 20th century. It is a timeline of significant events in Hawking’s life, especially the discovery of black hole radiation or publishing the book A Brief History of Time. It was not hard to create this infographic with the aid of online software. However, there existed some challenges. I needed to think about how to present the life of Hawking in a clear, concise way as well as how to make the viewers best understand the events and concepts presented. I also had to do careful research on Hawking’s life that my infographic would present a correct order of events and accurate pieces of information.

Video: Quantum Computer

The video introduces viewers to the quantum computer and its incredible power of computation, known as quantum computing. The video is a collection of clips extracted from different videos on YouTube. These clips are organized to explain the concept of quantum computers in the most basic way that anyone would understand what a quantum computer is and what it can do to the world. The difficult task of creating this short video was to search for relevant videos from which I could extract the clips. Picking the appropriate videos requires a good understanding of quantum computers. So I had to do a careful research on this topic.

Animation: What is gravity?

The animation attempts to explore the gravitational force between objects. It will bring viewers to the classical concept of gravity proposed by Isaac Newton, then surprise them with a radically different view of gravity of Albert Einstein. Also, the animation mentions the effects of gravity on people and their environment. I’ve had some challenges when creating the animation. I had to set up the motion effects for various objects to explain the impact of gravity. It wouldn’t have been that hard if the software had supported all kinds of motion. The fact was that the software I used did not have some certain motions such as rotation. Besides, I had to find a sensible and practical way to demonstrate the idea of gravity that all people can understand it.

E-magazine: Modern Physics

The magazine is an online magazine with focus on various topics in modern science. This is the first number of the magazine. This edition tells the story of how quantum probability comes in and dominates the world we are living in. It also mentions the beautiful structure of spacetime and the idea that has led Einstein to discover that structure. More importantly, in this edition, we would explore the ever complex object in the universe, black hole, which was predicted by Einstein’s equations. We would understand why the first image of black hole is so vital to the development of cosmology. The process of creating the magazine was not hard. I picked Joomag to create this magazine, and this online software had a lot of useful functions that greatly shortened the time to complete my work. It was fun and easy for me to create a magazine with Joomag.
